Some of the most recent projects undertaken by the band was the Musical theatre piece, King Cotton. This was a completely new experience for the band and involved the band being on stage throughout the performance in full costume In the second half the band were placed in cages suspended high up 20 feet above the stage. All of the band were involved, many as extras taking the parts of mill workers and ships crew. The band's good friend John Henshaw (Early doors, the Royal family,& Cops) Landed a starring role and played god. The show was written by Jimmy McGovern from an original idea by Ian Brownbill. The band recently celebrated our 10th Year Anniversary, that was celebrated in style by staging a sell out concert at the Tameside Hippodrome featuring the Ashton Band and Buzz Hawkins ( The Bradshaws) A fantastic time was had by all and was lovely to see all old friends, family and supporters of the band turn out in force to join in the celebrations and make the event so memorable We did produce a very limited number of DVD's that feature the bands class performance unfortunately it does not feature The Bradshaws slot as there was just too much footage (sorry Buzz!)
